Wout Van Aert has donated a signed jersey to the npo Hippo and Friends. We would love to give this jersey a new home and have therefore set up a competition. Residents of Belgium, the Netherlands, France, and Germany aged 18 and over can participate by transferring a contribution of 2 euros to npo Hippo and Friends, answering a tie-break and competition question, and leaving their contact details. You may participate as many times as you like between 1 February 2026 and 28 February 2026.

With the proceeds, we can continue to support scientific research into type one diabetes without interruption.

Competition rules

1. Organizer

The competition “Win a signed cycling jersey from Wout Van Aert” is organized by NPO Hippo and Friends, with registered office at Herestraat 49 box 902, 3000 Leuven, registered in the CBE under number 0728.817.319, hereinafter referred to as “the organizer”.

2. Participation

- Participation is open to:. all residents of Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany aged 18 or over .

- Employees of the organizer are excluded from participation.
- Participation requires the donation of €2 to NPO Hippo and Friends.
- By participating, the participant declares to have read and accepted these rules.

3. Competition Period

The competition runs from February 1st 2026 to February 28th 2026. Entries received after this period will not be considered.

4. How to Participate

To participate validly, participants must:
- Complete a form with contact information, answer a knowledge question and tiebreaker question, and make a donation of €2 to NPO Hippo and Friends
- Entries must comply with the following conditions: the correct contact information must be filled out, the response to the knowledge and tiebreaker questions must be correct.

5. Selection and Evaluation

- Winners will be selected the organizer based on the correctness of the answer to the knowledge and tiebreaker questions. 
- The organizer’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Prizes

The following prizes will be awarded: Signed cycling jersey from Wout Van Aert.
- Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be converted into cash.
- The organizer reserves the right to modify the prizes if circumstances require.

7. Announcement of Winners

Winners will be announced on March 10th 2026 via e-mail and social media.

Winners must respond within 7 days, failure of timely response will lead to reallocation of the prize.

8. Copyright and Use of Entries

By participating, the participant grants the organizer a non-exclusive right to use the entries for promotional purposes, mentioning the participant’s name unless written objection is made.
The participant guarantees that the entry is their own work and does not infringe any third-party rights.

9. Privacy

Personal data collected as part of the competition will be used solely for the management of the competition and communication with participants, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy legislation.
The organizer, as data controller, can be contacted via info@hippoandfriends.be.

10. Liability

The organizer cannot be held liable for technical problems, data loss, or any circumstances beyond its control that may affect participation or the conduct of the competition, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.

11. Changes and Force Majeure

The organizer reserves the right to modify these rules or cancel the competition in case of force majeure or circumstances beyond its control, without prior notice and without participants being entitled to compensation.

12. Applicable Law

These rules are governed by Belgian law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent courts of Leuven.
