World Diabetes Day

World Diabetes Day (WDD), November 14, is the day that all types of diabetes receive attention. On this day, the world turns blue. Each year, the campaign focuses on a specific theme. The theme for WDD 2024 is 'Diabetes and Well-being'. 

Why this campaign?

Hippo & Friends puts type 1 diabetes in the spotlight. We want to clear up misunderstandings, because many people think that you only get type 1 diabetes because you are too fat or eat too many sweets, but it has nothing to do with that!

Children and young people also come into contact with diabetes. The impact of this should not be underestimated. You don't have the disease alone, but with the whole family.

We call on you to color your school blue.
